What we envision

■ Objectives:

  1. Recognize Earth as a shared resource, and use and nurture unclaimed lands and properties by creating a system for sustainable enrichment.

■ Means:

  1. Improve the value of PlanetDAO (including real estate value, value of mechanisms and know-how, social value of the initiative itself, among others).
    1. Achieve 100 locations and 10,000 DAO members (excluding locals) within 3 years.

■ 3 components of PlanetDAO:

  1. Bases of making changes [Properties / lands]
  2. Recognize the earth as a commons [Green]
  3. Coordinate like-minded members in a form of DAO [Token]

What does DAO mean?

DAO stands for ''Decentralized Autonomous Organization.'' In the context of PlanetDAO, a decentralized governance community manages PlanetDAO through an embedded governance mechanism. The organization is made up of all Planet token holders, local residents in subDAO, and ecosystem stakeholders. Planet Token holders have the sole authority to enact changes to the system through Snapshot. It is decentralized because no single party has full control over the system.

Who is the PlanetDAO Community?

PlanetDAO is not a company. The PlanetDAO Community is the wide world of people and organizations that use or support $Planet and　PlanetDAO’s properties and lands.

What is the PlanetLabs, and how does it relate to PlanetDAO?

The PlanetLabs is tasked with bootstrapping the system to ensure that it can survive as a fully decentralized organization. The PlanetLabs employs people to develop the strategies and manage the tasks required to build enough momentum so that PlanetDAO can successfully thrive on its own. Per the PlanetDAO Proposal, decentralization is a top priority and is ongoing. Though PlanetLabs is progressively providing systems to PlanetDAO, PlanetLabs itself is managed through the voting power of Planet token holders. It’s important to note that the PlanetLabs does not occupy a privileged position within the community.
